Trial Chamber V (a) has scheduled a status conference for Tuesday to review the progress in the trial of William Samoei Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Read: Decision No. 5 on the Conduct of Trial Proceedings (Principles and Procedure on ‘No Case to Answer’ Motions)

ICC judges led by the Presiding Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji and his colleagues in the three-judge bench Judge Olga Herrera Carbuccia and Judge Robert Fremr had adjourned the hearing dates of the cases from November 24 and November 25 last year to January this year.

They adjourned the dates to allow Ruto to host the Pope in Nairobi.

According to the court’s tentative court calendar for the year 2015, the trials will begin on 12th and end on 15th with a status conference.

Ruto is required to attend the trial in person after a judicial recess as set out in the regulations of the court and as directed by the chamber either or other request of a party or participant as decided by the chamber.
