 Victims and survivors of human rights violations will tomorrow, Wednesday, petition Parliament to pass the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission report to open the way for implementing its recommendations.More than 100 victims meeting for their fifth national convention in Nairobi said that although they appreciated President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to establish a Sh10 billion Restorative Justice Fund, they demanded the passage of laws to protect the money and ensure its proper use “[T]he President’s announcement during this year’s annual State of the Nation address is a significant policy shift in relations between the government and victims -away from confrontation to collaboration, “the said in their statement.
